The WBIF has supported estimated investments of €2.3 billion in the public sector in Montenegro.
Montenegro received €418.7 million in grants in 2008-2024: €360.2 million in investment grants and €58.5 million in technical assistance. These grants support estimated investments of €2.3 billion in rail and road transport, water supply and sanitation, waste management, electricity interconnections, broadband connectivity, and education and judicial facilities.
The country benefitted from ten EIP flagship investments in 2020-2024, which directed €618.8 million towards sustainable transport, water supply, sanitation, and pre-university education facilities. The WBIF contributed €271.5 million in grants to these investments, of which €260.8 million was EU IPA funding and €10.7 million was Bilateral Donor funding.
