North Macedonia, Oslomej 1 Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant

The energy sector of North Macedonia relies predominantly on fossil fuels and hydropower and is dependent on electricity imports. This investment project will install a 10 MW solar power plant on the site of the exhausted coal mine in Oslomej. The plant is expected to produce nearly 15 GWh of electricity and displace 12,177 tonnes of CO2 annually. The Oslomej 1 photovoltaic power plant is part of a larger effort to clean up the site, diversify energy sources and support decarbonisation.
