Preliminary Design and Feasibility Study with ESIA for Construction of Highway E-80

Preliminary Design and Feasibility Study with ESIA for Construction of Highway E-80

Project Description

The construction of a new highway between Niš and Priština through the administrative crossing point Merdare is expected to reduce significantly travel times, increase the level of service and road safety, and enhance regional transport activities. This highway forms part of a wider axis (Route 7) that links Bulgaria with the Adriatic Sea via Serbia, Kosovo* and Albania.

This WBIF technical assistance grant dealt with the first section of the Niš-Merdare highway, between Niš and Pločnik, which is about 40 km long. It funded the preparation of the Preliminary Design and Feasibility Study with ESIA for this highway section.
