Technical documentation Preparation and TSO support for 400 kV Interconnection Serbia – Montenegro – Bosnia and Hercegovina - Regional Project

Project Description

The main objective of this technical assistance assignment is to complete technical documentation for issuing construction permits for the 400 kV OHL Bajina Basta (SER) – Visegrad (BiH) – Pljevlja (MNE) and associated works in the terminal substations, in accordance with the national legislation in all three beneficiary countries.

As a direct continuation of the previously supported feasibility study, this WBIF TA grant will contribute to the establishment of a regional power network connecting the electricity transmission systems of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia with Croatia, Hungary, Romania and Italy through 400 kV overhead lines or submarine cables.

The Trans-Balkan Electricity Corridor is of crucial importance not only for the involved transmission system operators (TSOs) but for the entire region. It is also one of the Flagship projects under the EU's Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans.
