Project Description

This project aims to contribute to the rehabilitation and refurbishment of about twenty Health Provider Institutes (HPIs) in North Macedonia. It has benefited from a €3 million WBIF grant, mobilised from the WBIF Bilateral Donors. The grant has helped define investment priorities across all HPIs, some of which will be executed in a different phase, as well as cover the complementary funding needed for the reconstruction of the Kozle Institute for Children Respiratory Diseases in Skopje. 

This project is now complete, with the Kozle Institute in full operation.

Results and Benefits

  • improve the level of health care in the country by improving basic infrastructure and upgrading outdated equipment
  • replacement of materials containing asbestos (roof covers, suspended ceilings and floor covers), thermal insulation as improving the operational conditions, creating more responsive and dynamic environment provides a positive impact on the environment
