Regional Stakeholder Forum on the Flood Risk Management Plan for the Sava River Basin

14 - 15 November 2018: The International Sava River Basin Commission organised a Stakeholder Forum Workshop on the draft Flood Risk Management Plan for the Sava River Basin in Belgrade, as part of the WBIF-funded project "Improvement of Joint Actions in Flood Management in the Sava River Basin".

The two-day event in Belgrade was attended by regional institutions in the fields of flood management, environment, nature protection and energy, international organisations, civil protection agencies, NGOs, and representatives of the private sector from the countries of the Sava River Basin: Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia.

At the Forum, the draft Flood Risk Management Plan for the Sava River Basin was presented. The participants discussed its findings in order to facilitate active and effective feedback from stakeholders as well as the process for the adoption and implementation of the Plan.

Dragan Zeljko, Secretary of International Sava River Basin Commission maintained: "Out of the two components of the project, we have already established a joint Flood Forecasting and Warning System. At the Forum we made another step and opened the public discussion with the interested parties to support us in finalising the Plan."
