This section presents information on investment flows from the EC, IFIs and bilateral financing institutions and donors to the Western Balkans since 2007 in the following sectors: energy, environment, private sector development, transport and social issues.

Data have been obtained from publicly available sources and, where possible, have been verified by IFIs and donors between March and June 2011 (for more information on the sources, please see the explanatory notes). They are available through three main features:

A searchable project database showing primary information (title of the project, beneficiary, donor/lender, sector, loan/grant amount, year of approval), as well as a detailed description of objectives and financing modalities.

A series of analytical reports allowing the user to view and download information in different formats, e.g. table and graph reports of investments by beneficiary, by sector, by lending institution or by type (grants, loans, etc) which can be printed or exported for further analyses (available as webpages, excel tables or CSV documents).

A specific table recording those projects with a grant and a loan component, showing the leverage and grant to loan ratio for these specific projects.
